Be my number 1 by Magical525 Be my number 1 by Magical525
For valentines this year I made my bf smallbluemonkey a seriously geeky heart inspired by the startrek cookies of a blog I found. It's a TNG captains uniform and for those that have never seen it Picard always calls his first mate "#1"

Stats:
Size:  It's about 3 1/2 x 3 inches
Fabric: 28ct red linen - brand etc. unknown, this was a swatch I had in my stash since about 1995
Colours: 4 - black, gold and silver metallic for the badge and captains "pips" and very dark gry for the backstitching of the collar.

Yeah :) It was exactly why I chose to use it rather than my usual white cloth or black fabric.

Who knows - it's still telling me that "all" it wants is for me to fold the edges over and mitre the corners on the back, I'm not sure how that would remain stable, so I may do what it wants but then with a piece of fabric in the middle to protect the back of the embroidery.

Maybe you could put a piece of cardboard in there too to keep it stable?

It's an idea but since I need to be able to drape it to hide any items I use to balance the art I'm photographing that would be a bad idea. You can't see it in the image but I have a couple of things under it to keep the heart in place.

Oh, I see...in that case I guess yours is the bes solution, making it a nice cover, drape and display surface :D
