Deviation Actions
Aims & How to join + Submission Guidelines + Advertisements & Links
As you may have read in the previous journal post of stitchingpirates I had the idea of doing a group SAL (Stitch ALong) where we all work on getting things finished this year. This can be a New project, a project you already started, or that old, scary UFO that's been lurking at the bottom of the box since 1969. It doesn't matter! You may choose to work on one project at a time or several, you can announce one at a time or write a whole journal post with a list as long as your arm - it's all allowed! Everyone works differently but sometimes it's good to have company while you work
So... Don't do it alone - Lets do it together!
How to join in:
If you have one project you want to join in with:
Submit a picture of your WIP to the WIP/UFO folder of the group.
Put in the description what you are working on - the name of the pattern/pattern creator/size etc.
Add when you think you started/ when you started.
Write a comment here with a link to your project.
If you have more projects you want to join in with:
Write a journal post listing everything you want to achieve in 2013 - this list isn't cast in stone! It's just a wish list at this point.
Put "WIP" or "UFO" in the title of the deviation along with the project name so we we are reminded what you are working on.
Choose your first WIP/UFO you want to work on and submit a picture of your WIP to the WIP/UFO folder of the group.
Put in the description what you are working on - the name of the pattern/pattern creator/size etc.
Add when you think you started/ when you started.
Write a comment here with a link to your project AND a link to your journal post so we can all see what your plans areWhat happens next:
Just before the end of January I will write the next journal post asking for updates and I will include instructions on how to update us all. Some time in the first or second week of February I will write another Journal post with before and after pictures (as thumbnails) showing your progress over January.
This will repeat itself during the whole year.
Finished a project? That's wonderful news we will also want to know on the next update post! You can now submit the first image of your next WIP to the WIP/UFO folder with the description as mentioned above and post a comment to the most recent journal asking you for updates. And most importantly: Don't forget to submit the completed project to the "featured" folder for us all to enjoy!
At the end of the year I'll make a round up post showing the progress we all made over the year!
Need help or encouragement before the next update?
Just submit a picture of your WIP to the WIP/UFO folder of the gallery and write about it in the description of your WIP.
Put "Help needed with WIP" in the title along with your project name so we don't overlook it on a busy day.
Tell us what you are making - just the name of the pattern/designer will do
Tell us what is frustrating you or tell us what went wrong etc. It's easier to give help/support when we know what you need
Do you *have* to finish what you added to this project?
If you have any questions ask away - there are no silly/stupid questions - just things you don't know (yet) or things that are clear to me but not clear for you! Either comment here or send me a note (I won't see group notes so make sure you send it via my profile).
I and the crew of stitchingpirates can't wait to see what you want to work on this year!
I Love you most...

Another question: I'm not a fan of posting WIPs as deviations, so can I give links to sta.sh?
